Today I turn 39; I've finished the 60 machine acto Today I turn 39; I've finished the 60 machine actors for A Very Long Carriage Ride for a whopping $30 cost, and I have officially begun directing the performances. This month, I also hope to build the full machine cast for 'Superhero...' and the first draft for Cyrus-71. The democratization of cinema through AI frees it from the clutches of the wealthy class, who have kept our artform hostage. I persist because it allows me to live my ideals in practice, something people are rarely privileged to experience. The present is lost to hysteria, but this seed will sprout, mark my words.
I made a video essay alongside my new article, "On I made a video essay alongside my new article, "One Man, One Film" making the case for what I believe is the most exciting new frontiers of AI film, the solo-created film. This I believe will eventually warrant its own categorization; only then will cinema achieve its promise with the complexity, variation, and history of paintings and novels. Character test for Hopkins Brandy, the Dickens-esq Character test for Hopkins Brandy, the Dickens-esque centerpiece of Carriage Ride. We are not at a point in machine acting yet when you can tune anger, happiness, sadness with one twist of a dial. So this means I have to build a different character for every emotion I need. Hopkins angry, Hopkins whispering, Hopkins dramatic. Most will not have the patience for building machine performances; this one was arrived at mixing twenty machine actors. Once in a while you get a perfect one off the bat but most require alchemy. Katy even has some Betty Gray to get that analogue tape tone in her voice.

The acting, story, and dialogue in my films is one area I have never compromised, and is the one factor presenting the case for the legitimacy of this artform this second. If you have the sound, you have the film.
Character test for Katy Bloom, best friend of prot Character test for Katy Bloom, best friend of protagonist Autumn Watt in 'A Very Long Carriage Ride'. I was thunderstruck by her voice and she beat out 35 other voices. Once I got the tone, I only had Katy with an American accent, so after some finessing I got her British by mixing four entirely machine generated voices together in varying amounts, and voila, there is the character that I was dreaming about for years. I also successfully achieved an analogue/tape quality to her sound that is so enjoyable to listen to, which I plan to have for every performance. Do not pick your machine actor unless you 'know' it's the one. But at the same time, sometimes you won't know until they're already in the movie.
I've begun the machine performances on Carriage Ri I've begun the machine performances on Carriage Ride. EV now has one of my long awaited features, a tool you can create instant machine voices to your specifications, and it's incredibly good. This used to take WEEKS AND WEEKS of work, now I can assemble the full cast in two or three days. Carriage Ride has 59 speaking parts compared to DreadClub's 30. Carriage Ride is also an all UK cast, which is very exciting for a writer/director because the 'they're better actors' cliche is true even with machine performances.
Carriage builds on DreadClub in just about every w Carriage builds on DreadClub in just about every way you would imagine; the latest tools utilize more sophisticated character consistency for every type of action, for the first time, two shots and group shots, compositing that will also allow for overlapping action, and improved environmental controls. Dread was assembled directly out the algorithm by comparison. Carriage will be something that has never been done, representing several advancements in the machine cinema artform.
I have officially begun production on my fourth fe I have officially begun production on my fourth feature, "A Very Long Carriage Ride". Release date May 30th, 2025. This will be competing for 4 different 'first-in-history' milestones simultaneously in the machine cinema artform (I won't say which yet... including a really big one).

Plot: "An aspiring socialite teams up with the town drunk on a journey to expose a scoundrel at his own wedding, navigating magical interference, mistaken identities, and her own conflicted heart."

Carriage Ride is my favorite script I've ever written. I have been dying to tell this story for almost eight years. It will be my first period romantic comedy in film.

The movie was born from wanting to do another Austen-inspired comedy after my debut novel, the Unweddable Chattaway Girls (2018).

The story also draws inspiration from writers Edith Wharton, Wilkie Collins, AS Byatt, DH Lawrence, Charles Dickens and Roald Dahl. Cinematically it is inspired by Walt Disney, Mike Leigh, Robert Altman, Max Ophuls, and Baz Luhrmann.

There are many things about this movie I'm excited about, but the biggest draw are the characters, this is my most ambitious film ever with an ensemble of over 60 characters who weave in and out the story, each given their own chance to shine. I have always called it “a Hooroo Jackson Bash”.

This will be the craziest six months.
Vincent Kane and I have begun production on Cyrus- Vincent Kane and I have begun production on Cyrus-71; based on the novel, The Last Love Protocol and the End of Time. We have been working together since 2019, and the moment has finally arrived for the first Jackson/Kane film.

I'll be making this simultaneously alongside two other films: My Boyfriend is a Superhero!? and A Very Long Carriage Ride. All three films will be in color, marking a first for me in A.I.

All three will be competing for first-in-history categories in different ways that I will not yet share.

I am a director that always puts character, dialogue, and story over visuals, but the advancements in AI are pulling off every single test we give them.

By the end of 2025 marking my 40th birthday, I will have three films. The fourth film will bleed into 2026.

I have had technical dialogues aimed at me. We're developing new standards by evolving together with machine limitation. In this way, we are witnessing the birth of the brand new machine cinema artform.

A director should not waste time, there is nothing out there for us, it is all within. Let's begin.

We made Wikipedia as the first AI animated feature We made Wikipedia as the first AI animated feature film. Thanks again to Forbes for the correction. I am charmed that my little $400 indie is perched there with the most major animated blockbusters, milestones, and studio releases in the history of cinema. Now let's move onto new projects.
Announcing the sequel called DreadClub: Hieroglyph Announcing the sequel called DreadClub: Hieroglyphics Hex. This is a supernatural mystery taking place during a college excavation trip to Egypt, chock full of mummies, scarabs, scorpions and tombs. The film is at least one year away from production as we have several films I want to get to first (including a very special one I am writing with Vincent Kane), but I am committed to making another anime and showing off the numerous advancements in AI technology since DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict. Gradually we are making the case that AI is not the future, it is the present.
I have written a new article about the attacks aga I have written a new article about the attacks against the AI space in the last week (link below). I have coined two phrases before debunking them: the quality argument, and the effort argument.

ABOUT: DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict emerged in July '24 as the first fully AI-generated animated film ever made. Made on a budget of $400, DreadClub was made by a team of one person with only A.I. tools. Upon release, the film was the most critically acclaimed in my career scoring 75 % on RottenTomatoes and winning two awards for Best Animated Film and one award for Best Director on the festival circuit. I dealt with many attacks making this movie which are documented in the "Making of DreadClub" book on Amazon. To add insult to injury I have been dealing with a non-AI filmmaker claiming their non-AI robot movie released four months after DreadClub is the actual first AI animated movie. Yes, you read that right. Regardless of that idiot, I made DreadClub to inspire future filmmakers who want to make films but may not have the money or connections. AI makes our dreams possible. Enjoy the actual pioneering film in the AI space. hooroojackson.com

About: DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict emerged in July '24 as the first fully AI-generated animated movie ever made and the first full length AI-anime. Upon release, the film was the most critically acclaimed in my career scoring 75 % on RottenTomatoes and winning two awards for Best Animated Film and one award for Best Director on the festival circuit.

The entire film was made for $400 by just one person. I faced a lot of attacks for making this movie including bizarre claims from influencers that it doesn't count as a real movie. I post these clips to show that it is in fact, a movie. I made DreadClub to inspire future filmmakers who want to make films but may not have the money or connections. AI makes our dreams possible. Enjoy the actual pioneering film in the AI space.

The 'DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict' vs. 'Where the The 'DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict' vs. 'Where the Robots Grow' debate was covered by the gigantic YouTube channel, Saberspark, to the tune of some 1 million views so far. Obviously he roasts both films mercilessly; he's anti-AI. I don't take it personally because it is the same argument ad infinitum: if the technology is limited, you're a bad filmmaker, if the technology is great, you're a great filmmaker. These people are only capable of skin deep readings of cinema and their attempts to cut down what we do is basically an act of desperation; but I want to make it clear, I stand behind my features 100 %; Window Seat is my greatest film as it represents the birth of the machine artform as the first fully AI-generated feature film. DreadClub represents the evolution of complete AI integration into established forms. 'My BF is a Superhero!?' will push integration into full AI-editing and AI-storyboarding. All films made by one person with AI tools on sub $1000 budgets. Not partial. Not two percent AI as competing claims, but 100 %. Trashing them is akin to the landscape painters stomping on early cameras, or throwing campbell soup on paintings and only hitting glass. My goal is to build a filmography that is disruptive, artistic, and shows the evolution of the new AI artform in real time. The goal is not to convert haters and luddites who will just pivot to 'too perfect therefore soulless' criticisms when we meet their demands for parity with hollywood films. The democratization of cinema is too important to fall into the hellscape of their bad faith critique, AI cinema is an idea that has met its time. Any attempt to stop, steal, or suppress this idea is a crime against the future and will fail.
